We have arrived in Asia! After a long two days of travel we arrived in Bangkok, Thailand. It felt so great to be back in Thailand! We were last here in January 2007, when we lead our first DTS outreach team. These nations have such a special place in our heart and vision, that it’s felt a little like coming home.
Next, we headed across the country by bus, and walked across the border into Cambodia! Currently, we’re in the largest northwestern province in the nation, known as Battambang.
We are staying that the University of the Nations base here in Battambang, and enjoying participating in the base activities and getting a general feel for how our DTS teams from Kona can be effective and fruitful in the city. The base here truly is amazing, with many diverse ministries and involvement in many different streams of society. Currently, there is also a DTS (Discipleship Training School) running with 20 local students as well as a SBS (School of Biblical Studies), which is a 9 month program.
In the next few days we will have the privilege to participate and see first hand many of the different opportunities that our teams with have to serve in during their outreaches and time here. This includes, a local business, Cafe Eden, a bustling Youth Center (where literally hundreds of students come every afternoon to be taught English, music, computer studies and other specialized classes), Village ministry and church planting, orphanages and children at risk homes.

Lastly, THANK YOU for all your prayers while we’ve been gone already! We have truly seen the hand of the Lord as we’ve traveled! There’s been such a supernatural covering and grace, specifically over Alissa’s health as we’ve been here! It’s been quite amazing and we have felt your covering from back home!
Looking forward to posting pictures, videos and more information in the coming days. Love, G&A
